Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to persistence, adaptability, and a focus on continuous growth. During my time as a Warrant Office in the Army I learned that true leadership is about service—helping others succeed. There was no greater reward than having a junior Soldier return later to say, ‘Thank you, Chief, you really helped me.’ Those moments reinforced my belief that success is measured not only by personal achievements but also by the positive impact we make on others.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was to never be afraid to step outside my comfort zone. Taking risks and embracing new challenges has consistently pushed me to grow—both as a professional and as a person—and has opened doors I never would have imagined.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is to invest in yourself and never stop improving. There will be challenges and moments of doubt, but remember—the race is not for the swift, but for those who endure to the end. Success comes from persistence, resilience, and the courage to keep moving forward, even when the path isn’t easy. Believe in your ability to grow, embrace every opportunity, and don’t let anyone place limits on what you can achieve.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

He greatest challenge is collaboration across teams that may not always speak the same language—military, civilian, and technical. Yet, this challenge is also the biggest opportunity: by bridging those gaps, we create stronger partnerships and better outcomes for the mission.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, persistence, and respect guide everything I do. When I was in a position of authority as a Warrant Officer, I made it a priority to help others succeed. There was no greater reward than having a junior Soldier return and say, ‘Thank you, Chief, you really helped me.’ That experience reinforced my belief that leadership is about service. In both my career and personal life, I hold fast to hard work, family, and continuous growth—values that keep me focused, grounded, and fulfilled.
